There is this strange phenomenon on the Ranch that makes you feel like you’re always supposed to be doing something. If you ever sit around too long, this ominous presence appears behind your shoulder and drives you into action, even if it’s the slightly arbitrary variety. On the plus side, it makes it easier to be productive when you need to. On the downside, everybody runs around trying to “look busy” for the Ranch’s sake sometimes, when really, sitting and staring at the ceiling for a second is what would be ultimately preferred. The other night I was hanging out with Steven and Dan after dinner. Nobody felt like working, but we all felt really compelled to do *something*. So we decided it would be a brilliant idea to spray paint all over the back wall. Obviously way more productive than hanging out and doing nothing! Bruce made us paint over it of course, but it was an artistic masterpiece whilst it lasted. Behold:
(We happened to be discussing the Chinese Zodiac, which I am going to always be suspicious of, if for no other reason than because I’m a Water Dog, not a Fire Dragon or something impressive and cool-sounding. Our first creation was a team effort, and it came out looking dragon/Trogdor esque, so I decided to adopt it as my patron Chinese zodiac symbol. So very fancy. )
